First Year Academy Prestige Evening
On 9 April 2013, the 32 top performing first year students of 2012 were the guests of honour alongside the lecturers which they nominated as having the greatest influence on their success. The Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Russel Botman hosted the event at Neetlingshoff wine estate. Also in attendance were Prof. Arnold Schoonwinkel, Vice-rector Learning and Teaching, and Prof. Sonja Human as the guest speaker. This event recognised the hard work put in by students in their first year and acknowledged the role that lecturers have played in motivating these students to succeed. Both lecturers and students exchanged letters to one another along with the certificates with which they have been awarded. Click here for a list of the recipients.
